    Position Purpose and Summary

    Ensure prompt and courteous service to clients and patients with billing laboratory and clinic questions over the phone.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education: High school graduate or equivalent


    Licensure/Certification: N/A


    Experience: understanding and experience with Business Math; Excellent Customer Service skills over the phone; basic keyboard and computer skills; accurate data entry.


    Language: Fluent in English and Spanish

    General Areas of Responsibility

    • Support billing and other inquiries over the phone or via e-mail from patients, clients and internal customers.
    • Resolve billing questions and gather credit card payments.
    • Post payments in the billing system accurately and timely.
    • Understand and maintain knowledge of insurance billing policies.
    • Understand the basics of other departments and how they interact with billing.
    • Understand and adhere to HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations.
    • Work assigned past due accounts and make collection calls.
    • Perform other work related duties as assigned (mail returns, adjustment reports).

    General Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs.
    • Typically sits for extended period of times
