Job Description

Desert Orthopedics, of Praxis Health, is seeking an Appointment Scheduler with superior phone skills, excellent judgment and a proactive manner for a full time position. This position is customer service and patient care focused. We are looking for someone who is comfortable and willing to actively listen to, and provide accurate assessment of, patient and customers’ needs, and provide professional and timely assistance to all callers. This job is located behind the scenes at the clinic, with your patient interaction being mainly over the phone, but with the patients care at the center of all the decisions you make!

Essential Job Functions
  • Ability to gather and input demographic and insurance information accurately, schedule all appointments accurately and professionally and monitor daily provider schedules appropriately
  • Ability to effectively communicate clear and concise information to patients, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with all levels of staff, physicians, patients and families in an effective manner.
  • Demonstrate and apply knowledge of medical terminology, including medical procedures, high proficiency of general medical office procedures including HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer technology, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database.
  • Ability to work under stress and deal effectively and courteously with difficult people.

8:00am - 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

Education:  

  • High school diploma or GED required.

 

Experience: 

  • One year customer service experience is required. 
  • 6 months experience in a high volume call center is preferred. 
  • Must demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills, customer-focus, and problem solving skills

General Physical Requirements

  • Manual dexterity for office machine operation including computer and calculator; stooping, bending to handle files and supplies, mobility to complete errands for deliveries, or sitting for extended periods of time.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Stress can be triggered by multiple staff demands and deadlines.
  • Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and patients.
