Vancouver, Washington
This Waterfront Wonder town was named in the New York Post as the 'hippest' city in the nation for its historic and walkable waterfront along the Columbia River. It’s known for its many parks, gothic bridges and bicycle paths, as well as for its eco-friendliness, microbreweries, cozy coffeehouses and exceptional restaurants. Natural wonders are all around - from kayaking Lacamas Lake and fishing the shores of Battle Ground Lake to miles of hiking trails that wind through lakeside paradises and dense forest groves of the Cascade Mountain Range with snow-capped Mount Hood and looming Mount St. Helens. The city hosts thriving art, theater and music scenes. Nearby wine country and coastal beach resorts are about an hour away.
