Job Description

Oregon Allergy Associates is looking for an experienced candidate to join their dynamic team of health care providers. If you are an energetic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who would like a unique opportunity in a well-established specialty clinic, then this is the position for you. 

 

In this role, you will administer allergy injections, prepare immunotherapy testing sets and mixes vials for allergy patients. Observes patients for any adverse reactions and effectively manages emergency situations and treat accordingly. Provide general patient care and education.

They should take the initiative to identify and address needs, and offer feedback and suggestions for improving workflows and processes. Pay: $25-$27 per hour DOE 

 

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Attends work regularly and on time.
  • Administers allergy injection for patients according to protocol.
  • Observes patients for any adverse reactions and effectively manages emergency situations and teats accordingly.
  • Provides general patient care and education.
  • Maintains effective interpersonal relations with team members, supervisors, and patients.
  • Effectively communicates with the care team to ensure the flow of patient care is successful.
  • Reviews and verifies patient medications and allergies, updating records as needed.
  • Completes chart preparation, including pulling Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) reports and preparing consents.
  • Assists with patient discharge, including providing an after-visit summary.
  • Completes room turnover processes, including cleaning and restocking.
  • Performs controlled medication tasks independently.
  • Makes complex phone calls requiring skilled communication and decision-making.
  • Trains other Medical Assistants and completes special projects to support Praxis Health’s improvement.
  • Completes other tasks as directed by the clinical supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Certification as a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), or a diploma from an accredited vocational institution, community college program, or equivalent.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred, but we value experienced candidates and offer comprehensive training and support.

Other Requirements:

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Up-to-date health records, including appropriate immunizations for the healthcare field (Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis).

General Physical Requirements

Physical Demands:

 

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, twist, and crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Requires walking on non-level surfaces, inside and outside the office, throughout the day. 

 

Work Environment:

 

Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.
