Job Description

The Mid-Willamette Valley Region of Praxis Health, would like to invite reliable, friendly and energetic Medical Assistants with outstanding people skills to join their team. 

This experienced Medical Assistant will serve as a float between clinics throughout the region. Locations include South Salem, Dallas, Albany, McMinnville.

 

Wage Range - Initial placement will depend on readiness to serve, $23 - $27. Mileage reimbursement included from designated home clinic.

What You’ll Do:

🔹 Room patients quickly while ensuring comfort and satisfaction
🔹 Accurately capture and document vitals, medications, and patient history
🔹 Assist providers with minor procedures, EKGs, injections, and vaccinations
🔹 Support patient flow, chart prep, and discharge processes
🔹 Maintain clean, well-stocked exam rooms
🔹 Complete daily tasks and patient follow-ups
🔹 Senior MAs train others and perform advanced procedures

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Medical Assisting diploma from an accredited vocational institution, a community college program in medical assisting preferred.

Experience: 

  • Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a Medical Assistant, Caregiver or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) preferred.
  • Experience with Electrocardiogram (EKG), taking vital signs, venipuncture, capillary and giving injections.                                   

Other Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation and a impeccable driving record.
  • Must possess a current BLS certification or obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Current health records with the appropriate immunization to work in the health care field (Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis).

General Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.

OSHA Category
This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
