Oregon Allergy Associates, of Praxis Health, would like to invite reliable, friendly and energetic Medical Assistants with outstanding people skills to join our team. We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant (MA) with at least 2 years of direct clinical experience, preferably in a specialty clinic. This role includes both front and back-office responsibilities, with a primary focus on supporting providers in direct patient care related to allergy testing, immunotherapy, and chronic disease management.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting providers and ensuring seamless patient care. Your responsibilities will include:

✔ Rooming patients quickly and efficiently 

Performing Electrocardiogram (EKG) procedures and vital sign measurement

Updating medical records

✔ Assisting with minor procedures and administering injections

✔ Supporting patients through their visit, including discharge and follow-ups

✔ Managing medical supplies and ensuring a clean work environment

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant

Active Medical Assistant Certification 

Proficienecy with electronic health redrocs 

Strong communication skills & self-starter personality

Compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented

Ability to multi-task and provide support to multiple providers

Passionate about patient care 

BLS certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire)

Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) and prior authorizations.

General Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the shift
  • Capability to lift, push, and carry up to 25 pounds, including medical equipment and supplies
  • Dexterity to handle medical instruments and perform procedures accurately
  • Visual and auditory ability to assess patients and use diagnostic equipment
  • Fine motor skills for precise documentation and use of electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Ability to bend, reach, and kneel as needed for patient care and room preparation
  • Stamina to maintain focus and physical activity in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Work Environment

  • Collaborative, fast-paced healthcare setting focused on high-quality patient care
  • Works closely with providers and care team to ensure efficient patient flow and positive patient experiences
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are essential for team reliability
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Rooming patients efficiently, ensuring comfort, and timely starts to visits
    • Documenting vitals, medications, allergies, and chief complaints in the EHR system
    • Preparing charts, including PDMP reports and necessary consents
    • Assisting with patient discharge and providing after-visit summaries
    • Cleaning and restocking exam rooms to ensure readiness
  • Performs various procedures such as EKGs, injections, vaccines, and ear irrigations with precision
  • Completes controlled medication tasks following strict protocols
  • Provides training to new Medical Assistants and contributes to special projects
  • Handles complex phone calls requiring skilled communication and decision-making
  • Flexibility and teamwork are essential for taking on additional responsibilities as needed to support Praxis Health’s commitment to patient care
