Do you love working with kids and families? Prairie Family Medicine is seeking a Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our close-knit team! We’re looking for someone energetic, compassionate, and detail-oriented who thrives in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

 

Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Medical Assisting diploma preferred

  • Minimum 1 year of recent healthcare experience (MA, CNA, Caregiver, or EMT); pediatric experience preferred

  • Skilled in:

    • Vital signs for infants, children, and teens

    • EKGs, venipuncture, capillary draws, and injections (including pediatric immunizations)

  • Experience with electronic medical records; IRIS knowledge preferred

  • Current BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days)

  • Up-to-date immunizations (Hepatitis B, TB)

General Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings.

OSHA Category
This position performs tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and/or tissues. All employees performing these duties are offered the opportunity to receive the Hepatitis-B vaccination series.
